UKCP Registration, Insurance & Safeguarding

I am a trainee therapist registered with the UKCP and also a trainee registered with the association of psychospiritual practitioners with the Institute of Psychosynthesis and as such abide with the code of ethics and conduct. I am insured to practice with Balens Insurance in the UK.

I am also a authorized pioneer within the Diocese of Newcastle which means I am open to all spiritualities and none.  Due to my background, I operate in a multi faith backdrop which includes all the major faiths and none.

Appointments take place at a time mutually agreed at the initial interview. The initial interview is an opportunity to explore the presenting issues in the wider context of one's life and whether counselling can help with this. All appointments are for 60 minutes. Client choice is paramount, and sessions can be ended at any given time in discussion with the therapist.

Online sessions I can offer psychotherapy sessions remotely by using a secure online video conferencing service. Where this has been the agreed way of working the client I will send a zoom link. For all online sessions, clients are expected to have access to a private and confidential room where they will not be disturbed by others for the duration of the session. In using online services there can, on occasion, occur technological break down either temporarily or permanently. It is important that the client has access to a phone so that they can be contacted when this happens. Similarly, the therapist will always have a telephone available during the sessions.

Electronic and digital messaging In between sessions it may be necessary for me to contact you either by email or text messaging. While I will minimise the content of messages to that which is most essential, it is important that you ensure your sole access to such messaging.

As a trainee therapist my fees are £ 30.00 per 60-minute session. Payment both in cash, by cheque or via bank transfer will be accepted. Payment by bank transfer is to be received 24 hours prior to the appointed time.

For group retreats please enquire for rates.

Cancellations and holidays One full week's notice is required for cancellation of a booked session. Cancellations within less than one week will be charged at £15  or with less than 24 hours' notice, the full fee.

Confidentiality, client records and data protection Basic client contact information including relevant medical information where necessary will be kept on file and only be used in relation to your counselling. All sessions are confidential and in line with the UKCP Code of Ethics. Copies of this code can be supplied on request. All information is kept in line with GDPR guidance and will not be shared with any third party without your prior consent.
